Aerospace Engineering Intern
My experience
Overview
Created a training guide for engineers to understand how the avionics they were creating are actually used in the flight deck. Participated in an optional crash course on data analytics using Python. Learned the basics of systems engineering.
I met with 1-2 different full-time engineers every week and they all loved the company. Based off of all my conversations, I would highly recommend MITRE as an employer.
Pros
Company culture is phenomenal. MITRE cares about you and will work with you to find a project you're passionate about (if full-time). Full-time engineers aren't expected to work much over 40 hours per week. Great pay.
Cons
Virtual was unfortunate, and they didn't have a ton of work for my internship, but it's a great balance for full-time engineers.

How did working remote affect your experience?
Didn't get to meet the other interns at all, but everyone was extremely supportive and quick to respond to my messages

Advice on how to prepare
Apply online, figure out why you're a good fit for the role, and show them that you can learn independently/get stuff done without having someone check in on you 24/7. Networking always helps.
