My experience
Overview
We worked on many large scale projects from different countries around the world facing malaria epidemics. Our group tested blood samples to determine if individuals had malaria and if they had antibodies against malaria. The interns did repetitive work-we punched a ton of samples, would record sample IDs, and help set up the Assad. Even though the work was not super interesting, the work environment was great. The mentors were very helpful and encouraging. In addition, I was promised to be published on a manuscript for my hard work that semester which was unexpected!
