Intern
Department: Environmental Management, USA & Canada
My experience
Overview
Work varied by the semester, but I spent a lot of time doing inventory of the chemicals on site. I also helped out with environmental audits.
This internship was ultimately why I changed my career path. I realized that the industrial setting for environmental engineering was very formulaic - I was frequently updating spreadsheets to prepare reports that were submitted annually. ||I found I was more freedom to explore my own ideas than this position allowed, so I switched to a research-focused career path.
