Operations Intern
My experience
Overview
Was given free rein to do what I wanted, but occasionally asked to do basic work like post a job listing or create a small infographic. Used the time to make improvements within the company like creating an employee database.
This is really what you make it. If you’re looking for an internship where you can make a high impact on your own time, I would definitely consider it.
Pros
Extremely flexible (you can make your own job position and work whenever you want, wherever you want), amazing culture (everyone is very welcoming and laid back), people listen to you (you can pitch an idea to the CEO and she’ll genuinely listen to your idea)
Cons
Unpaid (they’re a startup and make this abundantly clear before you join, but still a downside), not much guidance (you have to take initiative, but they’ll let you pursue areas you’re interested in and sort of create your own work)
Impact of work
Time spent working
How did working remote affect your experience?
Not much — the whole company is mostly remote.

Interview questions
Was just a quick call to see what you’re interested in and if you’d fit well with the organization.
Advice on how to prepare
Don’t sweat it. Be relaxed and open to any opportunities that come your way, but be very open from the start about what you want. They genuinely want to see you do well and get something meaningful out of it!
