Food Safety Intern
Department: Safety
My experience
Overview
My main project was to find how to improve food safety in various catering events.
I loved my mentor; she is the reason I gave such a high rating. I feel like the company culture wasn't as pure as what Disney portrays to their guests. Also, the internship activities were lacking, and so I had a hard time connecting with other interns. I also made less than my previous internship, and I had to pay ~$170/week for a two-bedroom apartment that I was sharing with 3 other people. Definitely feel like Disney underpays their employees, but it's worth it if you're a huge Disney fan because free theme park passes. This all being said, I've never been a HUGE fan of Disney, so I wasn't as "enchanted" as others that have been enamored with Disney all their life. I just really feel like I didn't fit in.
Would recommend it to people who...
are interested in food safety and/or quality.

Interview questions
They asked about my experience, and that's pretty much it. I think I interviewed the interviewer more than they interviewed me.
Advice on how to prepare
Be enthusiastic and show that you are right for the job, but stay level-headed. Don't be overly excited and talk about how great it would be to work at Disney. Many interviewers tend to steer away from these applicants because they think all they care about will be working for Disney, and not really care about their position. Treat it like a normal interview.
