IT Intern
Department: Enterprise DevOps Team
My experience
Overview
As a DevOps intern, you essentially work as a junior DevOps Engineer on the same tickets that the other DevOps engineers are working on. This is generally more day-to-day work, such as configuration of pipelines and Datadog alerts, given that the infrastructure (in code) and a lot of the cloud resources have already been configured. However, this day-to-day work will teach you a lot about Azure, the cloud, and containerization. There is also an IT intern hackathon, although this project may be less programming heavy than expected (or possibly little to no programming).
Pros
Real intern work, amazing furniture, great in-person experience
Cons
Experience can be team dependent
Impact of work
Time spent working
How did working remote affect your experience?
I was remote because of a shifted start date, but many of the interns had completely in-person internships despite Covid-19.

Advice on how to prepare
Prepare for a standard behavioral interview. There is an initial phone screen aside from the 2 behavior interviews, but the recruiters/engineers at each stage are awesome to speak with!
