My experience

Overview

My Fall 2019 role primarily consisted of coordinating with suppliers and lab technicians in order to test and qualify cheaper alternatives to current materials and designs.

Even though I got stuck in a role that wasn't for me, there is a ton of opportunities to make friends and find yourself helping with projects that may not be under your boss. There are a TON (150+) co-ops on site so there is a lot of opportunity to make friends. GE Appliances has a stellar rotational program for engineers (Edison Engineering Development Program) that is worth looking into upon graduation.

Would recommend it to people who...

Are looking for a company with lots of co-ops on a big campus and to get an introductory view of the engineering field.

Interview questions

This was not a difficult interview process. It was a simple one round chat with my recruiter. Very low stakes and relaxed.

Advice on how to prepare

There is a difference between being a Supply Chain and Mechanical Engineering co-op. Supply chain has more to do with the factory, and mechanical engineering has more to to do with design/testing/analysis. Engineers are hired into both roles.
