Remote Employed: Summer 2021
Format: Remote
My experience
Overview
I wrote verilog code to implement error correcting code on an FPGA. Other people on my team worked on other parts of a signal transmitter
Pros
It was interesting and I learned a lot
Cons
I felt a bit like I was thrown to the wolves without much support
Impact of work
Time spent working
How did working remote affect your experience?
It was difficult to work on hardware because I was virtual. I had to simulate a lot of things and only got to talk to people for an hour or two a day on calls.
Interview advice
How did you find the job / apply?
Interview Rounds
Interview type
Interview questions
It was a good bit of "what's your favorite class and why?" and "tell me about a technical project you worked on"
Advice on how to prepare
They will probably put you on an intern team to work on a project which is fun but also means the project may be hard with little guidance.
