Engineering Intern
Department: H-1 Aircraft
My experience
Overview
I wrote a lot of reports. These reports were created from research and data analysis. I spent much of my time browsing databases and compiling my findings.
The people are WONDERFUL. My coworkers alone make me want to work here full-time. They all so kind and funny and happy to help. I am a woman and, as expected, these offices are male dominated. I never felt threatened or uncomfortable or disregarded. There is a lot of camaraderie and respect. The work got a little bit boring at times, but I am not far enough in my engineering classes to do anything especially valuable right now. With saying that, everyone here has been happy to teach, explain, and answer questions. I do love it here. I would recommend living in one of the surrounding areas though, not Havelock. There isn’t much going on there. Also, a cool tip is that if you do well, you’ll be asked to come back another summer. And if you do well then, it seems you’re almost ensure an offer for a full time job. Kinda cool!
Would recommend it to people who...
