Manufacturing Engineering Co-op

My experience
Overview
Helped write and revise a temporary operating procedure while a tank would be out of service; Conducted a trial run of the new procedure; Monitored emissions and created spreadsheets to organize emissions events and tank throughput data needed for environmental compliance reports; created a training package for specialists to perform the propylene close at the end of each month; joined audit team for RC 14001/ISO 9001
Everyone there was very nice and helpful. It was easy to get involved in areas other than my unit
Would recommend it to people who...
want to be in a manufacturing setting and are willing to climb lots of tanks
Would NOT recommend it to people who...
would rather have a desk job or don't want to go out into the field sometimes
Impact of work
Time spent working
How did working remote affect your experience?
The position was in-person until Covid, when my unit decided to limit the number of people coming to the site. Most of my large projects were finished by that point, so it did not affect my experience much. They will probably return to in-person after Covid.
