Head Unit Validation Intern
Unstructured internship Woodcliff Lake, NJ Employed: Summer 2018
Format: In-person
My experience
Overview
I tested prototype cars for bugs in the head unit software and reported these bugs to be fixed. Created tickets and spreadsheets to track issues.
I did get driver training on a closed track which was really cool, but day to day work was just so monotonous. Team was very kind, but I had trouble relating with them on a personal level. Pay was terrible considering how expensive the area was. On the bright side, got to see my work in actual cars later.
Would recommend it to people who...
Very detail oriented, love cars/BMW, are okay looking at screens all day
Would NOT recommend it to people who...
Like building things and/or working with their hands
Impact of work
How much knowledge or experience was needed going in (pre-requisites)?
Time spent working
