Clinical Intern
Department: Sever Behavior Intensive Outpatient Unit
My experience
Overview
Ran treatment sessions for clients with autism, took data on treatment sessions
I really enjoyed this experience! It felt meaningful, and I learned a lot about ABA and behavioral treatments for severe autism. I liked interacting with the clients, as well as being a part of the staff teams for each client. There was a lot of variety in what we did day-to-day with many chances to work with different clients and staff teams.

Advice on how to prepare
I think they like the help of their interns and usually bring on quite a few each semester, so it didn't feel super competitive to me. Visiting the unit in-person before choosing to take the internship can be really helpful in preparing you for what to expect.
