Information Systems/Software Intern
Department: Information Systems
My experience
Overview
Being a beginner (as in I took one programming class and one SQL class before starting this internship), I started with writing a program in C# that basically connects to their SQL servers and serializes some info into JSON (presumably for their website). Then I was tasked with making an internal website for their Accounting Dept to solve some issue they were having (self-help service). Again used C#, T-SQL, and now MVC.
The work culture is GREAT! This was pre-covid, and I was allowed to WFH every Friday, and even split my workday up in the morning and night. I came in at 7, left at 3, and finished any remaining work late a night. The people are very kind and everyone was willing to help when I had questions. I just wish I knew what I know now so I could have made more of an impact!

Advice on how to prepare
Ask what projects they have in mind. When I arrived it felt like they did not know, but hopefully, they can give better requirements or at least explain who to ask for your next tasks.
