Intern
Department: Polymer Characterization Lab
My experience
Overview
I worked three days a week in the Thermal Lab, where I conducted measurements via Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) and analyzed thermal properties of specialty polymers for quality assurance and product development purposes. I worked two days a week in the Physical Mechanical Lab, where I prepared samples for mechanical testing and conducted impact tests to measure their impact energy. I also conducted smaller projects in the Microscopy lab where I used Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to analyze types of fracture of various products utilizing Solvay specialty polymers.
