Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta
Credit & Risk Management Intern
My experience
Overview
The economy had just crashed, so I did a lot of operational stuff to help analysts stay on top of their work. I also led an inquiry into where machine learning could be implemented in the department, built a presentation + a proof-of-concept model, and presented my findings to leadership.
The Fed has a 10/10 culture. Everyone was super friendly and I made a lot of great connections. The work wasn't super fulfilling, but my team worked with me so that I could work on projects that helped them AND interested me (which made my experience much more enjoyable).
Would recommend it to people who...
Like a good work environment; don't mind learning a lot of operational skills on the job.
Would NOT recommend it to people who...
Dislike monotonous tasks, bureaucracy, or outdated systems (a lot of things were dependent on internet explorer lol)
