Equipment Manufacturing Engineering Intern
Department: Powertrain
My experience
Overview
I helped land new equipment for a new subassembly line. I owned pieces of the equipment and did a lot of firefighting and continuous improvements. I designed a bunch of new jigs and fixtures to help with ergonomic use as well.
Pros
Pay is well for mechanical engineering students, you will get lots of experience and come out as a very technical engineer
Cons
Long hours. This job is not for everyone. You will get overtime but you will be working 50-60 hours minimum. I had some intern buddies work 10-12 hour days 7 days a week. This is NOT an internship for everyone.

Advice on how to prepare
Know what you did and how to answer the questions with lots of technical examples. My interview was only 30 minutes and one round ,so its difficult to show what you know. I recommend using the STAR format even though it is not required.
