Valve and Specialty Application Engineering Intern
Department: Application Engineerr
My experience
Overview
Mainly worked processing purchase orders and quotes for control valves and regulators. This often involved receiving a request from a customer to replace an old item, which could be fairly tedious. Other times customers would present you with process flow information, and you would need to use the software provided to select different properties of the valve and sell the recommended valves, regulators, etc. This was usually more interesting. Occasionally did other inventory and data compiling work.
Pros
Got to talk with people from several different industries across the southeast, and learned a lot about the different industries. Additionally, the valves themselves are pretty interesting to learn about and work with.
Cons
The work itself can be monotonous, as it often involves providing very similar quotes for customers.
Impact of work
Time spent working
