Application Development Co-Op
My experience
Overview
First rotation, designed/built a UI template for new tools and applications using angular framework. Second rotation, built a web app for my team using the first semester UI and Ruby on Rails backend connected to MySQL database.
Cox is a great place to work, the employees and managers go out of their way to make it a good experience for interns and co-ops. Take my "Work rating" with a grain of salt because it would probably be a 4.5-5 if I enjoyed frontend work more.
Would recommend it to people who...
Want to get real world experience outside of school and learn some skills in full stack web dev outside of the pretty exclusively backend work in school.
Would NOT recommend it to people who...
Don't enjoy frontend work.
Impact of work
How much knowledge or experience was needed going in (pre-requisites)?
Time spent working
How did working remote affect your experience?
Working remotely had little impact on my team, using microsoft teams keeping in touch was no trouble. I believe right now they plan on keeping at least some people remote through at least June
